Pendant Lights

Our beautiful Helena hanging pendant provides task lighting over a marble island. 

In a smaller space, it may be utilized for overall illumination. Helena is a simple geometric shape of circles that form a sphere. The crafted metalwork and elegant suspension rods are finished in polished nickel.

Our team recently completed this project. The valances are custom flat Roman valances in a blue and white linen cotton blend. The beautiful Diann light fixture is a six bulb polished nickel chandelier. It's slim transitional elegance suites the foyer well. African Style

Mali mud cloth is rich and textural.

Geometric patterns are a characteristic of Mali mud cloth. It has been used by hunters for camouflage. while hunting.

I need this kente cloth chair in my living room. The woven cloth is made in many patterns and colors. It's royal, as worn by the chief in the picture.

Textiles and Pattern

In a design scheme, use textiles to pull a space together or add a pop of color. I always, go for custom drapes, a beautiful pattern area rug, and an upholstered piece in common areas or bedrooms. When using textiles to add color keep the walls neutral or white.

Always change out fabric seats when purchasing chairs online or from a furniture store. It brings a custom feel to a space.

The Color Red

"What's Inspiring me?"

I recently binge watched the hit show, "This is Us". After a few episodes I realized how much I was drawn to the red walls in Randall and Beth's kitchen. It inspired me!  I also couldn't get enough of the big red knobs on the Wolf range. I found out they can be changed out for a different look.   Although white kitchens are still trending I'm ready for something new. This one fits the bill.

 What a beautiful merlot red gloss in a contemporary kitchen. The cool white backsplash and  stainless hardware pop the cabinets for a bold statement!

Restaurant Decor

When it comes to restaurant decor DeAfghanan in downtown Fremont, CA offers a glimpse into old Kabul.  Wall murals of mountains are painted with muted colors on stucco.  A beautiful patina on an antique wood door frames the entrance. The space is intimate and comfortable.  Service is hospitable and the food is beyond excellent... fresh and authentic.  I can't wait to go back!

Stage It

Thou it may currently be a buyer's market.. staging works.  It's not quite like decorating but showing your house in the best light possible has proven to make for a quick sale at a higher price. This dining room in the DC metro suburbs is the traditional style of the region. Using the current homeowner's furniture I moved the room toward transitional. The wall color  (SW6171 Chatroom) was changed. A new table and light fixture  were brought in to  updated the look.
